Dear Car,
You are more than an invention.
You are a story — one that has shaped generations, cultures, and personal lives in ways few technologies ever have.
You gave us personal mobility.
You gave us freedom.
And, perhaps most importantly, you gave us dreams.
As a child, I drew cars endlessly. I played with them, imagined them, raced them across living-room floors and blank sheets of paper. Somewhere between those sketches and daydreams, I also dreamed of something bigger — of Formula 1, of teams, of engineering excellence pushing the limits of what is possible.
Back then, I couldn’t know how deeply you would influence my life.
More Than A to B
What makes you special is simple, yet profound:
you are not just a means of transport.
You give us feelings.
A car is art in motion — a living blend of technology, design, craftsmanship, and emotion. It engages all our senses at once.
We see proportions, surfaces, light reflections.
We smell leather, fuel, oil, the subtle scent of a new interior.
We feel materials under our hands, the feedback through the steering wheel.
We sense acceleration, vibration, sound — the language of mechanics translated directly into emotion.
Few objects connect the human body and mind to technology so directly.
A Personal Journey
My own journey followed that childhood fascination step by step.
From naïve drawings to proper drawing boards.
From sketches to CAD models.
From simulations to real components.
And eventually — to cars designed, engineered, and built together with fellow students, friends, and teammates who shared the same passion.
What always struck me along the way was this: no matter how advanced the tools became, the essence stayed the same.
Curiosity.
Craft.
And the desire to create something that moves people — literally and emotionally.
A Shared Passion
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to work across different segments of the automotive world — from series production to motorsport — and with remarkable companies such as Audi, BMW, Alpina, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Peugeot, Toyota, Renault, Ford, McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley and Porsche.
But titles, brands, and segments matter less than one simple truth:
engineers, designers, executives — across all levels — share the same spark.
A passion for a thing on four wheels that still ignites the inner child in us.
Looking Ahead
Dear automobile, what you will become in the next 140 years, I cannot fully predict.
You will be more autonomous.
More digital.
More connected.
But I believe this deeply:
you will continue to offer joy to those who love to drive, to feel, to experience.
Because no matter how advanced technology becomes, humans will always seek emotion, connection, and meaning — and you have delivered that for 140 years.
A Birthday Wish
To all car lovers.
To petrolheads.
To engineers, dreamers, and future designers still sketching their first cars on paper.
Happy 140th birthday.
Yours,
Uroš 🚗✨
